The IAEA’s report also noted that the international community always doubted whether Iran’s nuclear programs were only for peaceful use as Iran claimed. The IAEA called for actual actions by the Iranian government so as to clear such doubt.

Iran has enhanced its uranium enrichment activities in spite of the demand to stop them by the international community, said the report. Iran had raised the number of centrifuges for enriching uranium from 3,300 in May to 3,820, with another 2,000 more in installation.

However, the IAEA also pointed out that Iran has still a long way to go before actually able to develop atom bombs. According to the report, Iran has a total of 480 kg low-enriched uranium so far, which would need to be converted into high-enriched uranium. The report shows that Iran would convert at least 1,700 kg such low-enriched uranium in order to meet the need of high-enriched uranium for one atom bomb.

The Iranian government has stated many times that it has the willing to carry out constructive negotiations with the IAEA on solving its nuclear issues, but the IAEA must adopt a “realistic” position, instead of imposing pressure together with the western governments.

However, the western countries blame Iran for continuing uranium enrichment activities, ignoring request from the international community. They claimed the possibility of further sanctions against Iran.
