Bomb scare in Ranchi DAV Shyamali school

Ranchi : Security personnel have launched a search operation after an unidentified caller threatened to blow up DAV Shyamali school of Ranchi Wednesday, police said.

“An unidentified person called the principal’s office of DAV Shyamali school and threatened to blow up the school. He said four bombs were planted in the school building and would be detonated in two hours’ time,” S.N. Pradhan, spokesperson of Jharkhand police, said.

“A search operation has been launched to find out the bomb in the school,” he said. Bomb disposal squad has been called from Hazaribagh to trace the bomb and a Special Task Force (STF) has been pressed into service.

Also, the school has been evacuated and the students have been sent back to their homes.

DAV Shyamali school, situated in Mecon colony, has a huge campus. Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni is an alumnus of the school.

On Aug 31, a live bomb was found and defused by the bomb disposal squad in Big Bazar of Ranchi. No person involved in the conspiracy has yet been arrested.
