BJP seeks special Uttar Pradesh assembly session on terror

By IANS,

Lucknow : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Friday demanded that a special session of the state assembly be held over the issue of rise in terrorism, particularly after Azamgarh emerged as a “haven for terrorists”, a party official said.

“(Chief Minister) Mayawati must tell us why unlawful elements are thriving in the state,” senior BJP leader Om Prakash Singh told reporters here.

The fact that Azamgarh has become “a haven for terrorists” exposes the ineptness of the state government and police authorities to check terrorism, Om Prakash Singh said.

“We want to know what measures have been taken by the government to contain terrorism,” he added.
