Bangalore : A bomb attached to a small gas cylinder was found Friday under a road bridge in north Karnataka’s Dharwad district, the police said.
“A small gas cylinder with wires attached to a box was found under a road bridge on national highway at Singanahalli near Dharwad by some passers-by and efforts were on to defuse it,” a police spokesperson said on phone from Dharwad, about 400 kms from here.
The highway connects Bangalore to Mumbai and passes through Dharwad.
“Traffic movement has not been disrupted on the highway. Explosive experts from the nearby district of Belgaum are on the spot. A bomb disposal squad from Bangalore may come if the Belgaum team fails to defuse it,” the spokesperson said.
