New Delhi: Demanding an inquiry in the ongoing bomb blasts in Delhi and encounters with alleged terrorists, the Chairman of Council of Indian Muslims—UK (CIM), Mohammad Munaf Zeena has asked “With all the ‘masterminds’ in the custody of Indian police and two other skilled in police encounter, who has now carried out yesterday’s blasts in Delhi?”
“The over ambitious security forces and BJP jingoists should not be unaware of the dangerous game they are playing by maligning the Muslims and taking advantage of the situation.” Zeena said.
Attacking BJP leaders’ opportunistic statements Zeena said, “Advani et al will never support a demand for an independent inquiry. They just want to introduce Hitlarite laws in the country and build gas chambers for Muslims of India. They are only interested in polarising the situation and ride the tiger of hatred without realising the dangers of their short sightedness for the survival of India as a secular state.
“We are surprised what is stopping the Indian government from investigating these acts of terrorism. Without proper and independent inquiry and without fathoming the depth of these blasts and without bringing the real culprits to justice nothing can be achieved.”
Zeena also deplored the Nanavati commission’s report tabled by the Modi government giving him a clean chit on his role in the massacre of Muslims in 2002. He said that in the undercover operation by Tehelka.com, Gujarat Advocate General Arvind Pandya had said that the accused had nothing to fear from the Nanavati-Shah Commission because “KG Shah Is Our Man. Nanavati Is Only After Money”
Zeena made a passionate appeal to all of the political forces, including the Hindutva brigade, “For God’s sake rise above your petty politics. Enough blood has been shed of innocent Indians. See the dangers the beast of sectarianism is posing to the country. While the terrorists are at work in their campaign of creating religious hatred elsewhere in the country, in Mumbai Bal Thackeray is busy in creating ethnic divide and thus threatening the integrity of India but no one seems to be taking any notice of his desh-drohita and the danger he is posing.”
