Shimla : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati would start her party’s Lok Sabha election campaign in Himachal Pradesh with a rally at Una town Thursday.
The rally at Una, 127 km from the state capital, would mark the start of the BSP’s election campaign in the hill state, BSP Shimla district president K.C. Bhatia told IANS Wednesday.
“Mayawati would also officially announce the party candidates for all the four seats in the state,” he said.
The hill state has four Lok Sabha seats – Shimla (Scheduled Castes reserved), Mandi, Hamirpur and Kangra – and will go to the polls May 13.
Bhatia said S.N. Pathania would be the BSP’s candidate from the Kangra seat, Lala Ram Sharma from Mandi and Mela Ram Sharma from Hamirpur.
“The party is still undecided over the Shimla seat,” he said.
