Sania-Chuang move in to doubles semis at Miami

Miami: India’s Sania Mirza and Chinese Taipei’s (Taiwan) Chia-Jung Chuang shocked eighth-seeded Spaniards Anabel Medina Garrigues and Virginia Ruano Pascual to storm into the semi-finals of the $4,500,000 Sony Ericsson Open tennis tournament.

The Indo-Taiwanese pair beat the Spaniards 6-3, 7-6(4) here Wednesday. Garrigues and Pascual never had a chance badly losing the first set. It seemed that the game was all over when Sania-Chuang pair was leading 5-4 in the second set but their opponents seemed to crawl back into the match but it was too late. Though they forced the second set into a tie-breaker but they never had a chance.

Peschke Of Czech Republic and American Lisa Raymond and Americans Raquel
Kops-Jones and Abigail Spears.
