Tehran : The Iranian parliament Sunday urged the government to reconsider its bilateral ties with countries that support terrorism, IRNA reported.
The Iranian lawmakers Sunday approved a bill in parliament urging the government to reconsider its ties with countries that sponsor and support terrorism.
The bill was approved by 146 votes of the total 201 cast by the Majlis (parliament).
The bill was inspired by the notion that some countries have recently been rendering help and support to certain groups opposing the Islamic Republic of Iran, the report said.
The parliamentarians noted that certain countries were making huge profits from the billion-dollar-strong trade and economic exchanges with Iran, but at the same time supporting anti-Iran groups.
They said such actions are in sharp contrast with international laws that ban ties with countries supporting terrorism.
