Patna : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani Friday promised a “special status” to Bihar if the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) comes to power after the Lok Sabha elections.
“Special status for Bihar will be granted if NDA comes to power,” Advani said in his address at a joint election rally with Janata Dal-United in Buxar town, about 125 km from here.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was also present on the occasion. The Bihar government has been stressing for a special status to speed up economic development in the state.
Advani also reiterated that Manmohan Singh is a weak prime minister.
“I have no personal feud with Manmohan Singh but he is a weak PM going by his style of functioning,” Advani said.
Advani will address two more public meetings in the state, in Nawada and Sasaram constituencies.
