Indian markets start trade in positive terrain

Mumbai : Indian equities markets started in the green on the last trading day of the week with a key index Friday ruling about 185 points higher than its last closing figure.

The sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened at 11,067.71 points, higher than its 10,947.4-point close Thursday. After about 10 minutes of trading, it was at 11,132.85 points, 1.69 percent or 185.45 points higher than its previous close.

Similarly, the S&P CNX Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was at 3,408.85 points, 1.17 percent higher than its previous close of 3,369.5 points.

The BSE midcap index was up 2.86 percent, while the BSE smallcap index was 2.16 percent higher than its previous close.
