Chennai : Entry gates of three central government offices including the income tax office and head post office in the city were found locked Thursday. Police suspect it to be the handiwork of pro-Sri Lankan Tamil elements.
According to the police, the entry gates of offices at the Shastri Bhavan and Aayakar Bhavan (Income Tax Office), both situated in the busy Nungambakkam area, and the head post office at Mount Road were found locked and sealed. The discovery was made well before the employees started reporting for work.
“We suspect it to be handiwork of the pro-Sri Lankan Tamils, apparently upset over the non-implementation of ceasefire in northern parts of Sri Lanka. No complaint has been received so far,” the police said.
