Siliguri sub-divisional officer Sarat Dwivedi said Giri is suspected to have carried the revolver in his pocket during a workers’ meeting addressed by Singh, who is fighting for the Darjeeling seat, at Naxalbari block April 15.

The video footage of the meeting indicated he was carrying the revolver, Dwivedi said.

“He has been given a show cause notice. We are probing the matter,” he added.

Giri, however, said that it was a licensed revolver.
