Chennai : A member of the banned Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) was remanded to judicial custody Saturday, police said.
Officials from the Q Branch wing of the Tamil Nadu police dealing with extremist activities said the man, identified as Muthanna, was arrested Friday night with global positioning system equipments.
The arrest came after specific information disclosed by Jayanathan, another LTTE member arrested earlier, they said.
Muthanna had come from Mullaitivu in Sri Lanka where the army is engaged in a fierce battle with LTTE and had told police that he was part of the outfit’s procurement module, they said.
