Day Care facility opens at Jamia Millia

New Delhi: A new Day Care facility has been established at Jamia Millia Islamia in New Delhi. Named Gerda Philibsborn Day Centre after the German educationist who spent time at Jamia from 1931 till 1943, the newly-constructed building was inaugurated today by Dr Syeda Saiyadain Hameed, Member of the Planning Commission.

The Day Care facility shall cater to the age group of 3 months to 3.5 years and shall have 60 children to begin with (with the capacity of going up to 120), 4 creche worker, 2 ayahs, 3 nursery-trained teachers, and 3 watchmen. It shall also offer day boarding for Jamia employees. The facility is self-financing.

The infant and rest room section shall have AC. The infrastructure requirements have been met under the special assistance grant of the UGC.
