“Hindus will revenge the injustice of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati against Varun while casting their votes during the Lok Sabha polls,” Singhal told reporters here.

He said if Mayawati continued to adopt harsh stand against the BJP’s Pilibhit nominee, she would not be able to remain in politics for too long.

Accusing Mayawati of practising “hate politics”, the VHP international president said: “Her (Mayawati’s) main intention behind slapping the NSA on Varun was to prevent him from campaigning for his party.”

Mayawati feared that the young leader could take over a lead in the politics and therefore decided to impose the NSA on him, Singhal said.

Launching an attack on the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government, Singhal said, “The government has failed to take adequate steps for combating terrorism. Owing to the weak stand of the government, Jehadi groups are spreading their tentacles across the country.”

Singhal also demanded strict action against members of the Peace Party of India, allegeing that they are delivering communal speeches in their election meetings.

“It’s surprising and shocking why Mayawati is not taking action against members of the Peace Party of India,” said Singhal.

Peace Party of India is a regional outfit having its base in pockets in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
