Jamaat Islami Maharashtra endorses Lok Sabha candidates in state

Patna: The Maharashtra chapter of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) has issued a list of candidates whom it will support in 2nd and 3rd phases of Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra.

In 25 parliamentary constituencies where LS elections will be held on 23rd April, JIH will support Nehal Ahmad of JD (S) in Dhule, Ajit Rao Ghorpade (independent) in Sangli, Appa Rao Rajle (independent) in Ahmad Nager, and candidates of INC-NCP-RPI alliance in remaining 22 constituencies.

JIH also announced its support to Abu Asim Azmi of Samajwadi Party in Mumbai North-West Lok Sabha seat where election will be held in 3rd phase on 30 April.

In a press statement JIH stated that the decision was taken for the benefit of community, society and nation and also to defeat the communal forces.
