Anshu Jain, 31, a lecturer in Dayal Singh College in south Delhi, was missing since Monday afternoon when she hailed an auto to return to her home in Mayur Vihar. Her family informed the police control room when she didn’t reach home.

“I don’t understand what happened – she came home a few hours back and she is not in a mental state to say anything,” Anshu’s father V.P. Singh told IANS by phone.

“She is very distressed and I and my family are trying to calm her,” Singh, who is a commerce lecturer in the same college, anxiously added.

Meanwhile, the Delhi University Teachers Association (DUTA) Wednesday morning had urged Delhi Police Commissioner Y.S. Dadwal to intervene for a prompt solution of the case. The association also filed a missing person’s complaint.

DUTA president Aditya Narayan Mishra said: “She has thankfully returned and is fine. I believe she was unhappy about how her in-laws were treating her.”

Anshu’s husband is an employee of software firm Wipro.
