The protestors showed their utter dismay at the attitude of the government and raised voice against the government. The president of Insaaf Party, Asif Mohammad Khan led the demonstration. The demonstrators asked, “Why should we vote for”? Protestors alleged that the Muslims of Okhla have been projected as terrorists in the eyes of the rest of the nation. So, should we vote for this? Innocent children in Okhla were killed in fake encounters. So, should we vote for this? Our innocent youngsters have been put behind the bars. So should we vote for this?”

The government is not ready to conduct a judicial enquiry into the Batla House encounter. So, shall we vote for this? The demonstrators asked the government “when the Muslims shall get justice?” They were visibly upset over the government’s denial for a magisterial enquiry into the Batla House encounter. Taking an aggressive stand the former Councilor Asif Mohammad Khan attacked the Congress. “Even after seven months of the Batla House encounter the Sandeep Dikshit the son of Chief Minster Sheela Dikshit and Congress candidate from East Delhi did not bother to meet the affected families.

And now at the time of elections Sandeep Dikshit has come here for the vote only on the pretext of making huge claims for resolving the issues of the public of Okhla. Asif Mohammad Khan said: “How dare Sandeep Dikshit is asking for vote from us? Shall we stand here as a yes man to Sandeep Dikshit by crushing our innocent children under our own heals? Who till yesterday were not ready to listen to us how can we vote for them?”

In the meanwhile the Shahi Imam of the historic Jama Masjid of Delhi Maulana Syed Ahmad Bukhari has once again reiterated the demand for a judicial enquiry into the Batla House encounter. He also expressed his apprehensions about the Magisterial enquiry ordered by the Delhi High Court that this will not bring out the truth. In a press statement released here yesterday Maulana Syed Ahmad Bukhari stated: “The reports by several Human Rights organizations, Social organizations and independent investigators have revealed inconsistencies in the stories cooked up by the Delhi police. The reports have also raised serious questions on the Delhi police version of events.”

“The argument of the counsel of Delhi police before the Delhi High Court that “Magisterial enquiry would demoralize the police force” shows that there is something wrong with the police version” said Shahi Imam Maulana Syed Ahmad Bukhari.

He appreciated the stand adopted by the National Human Rights Commission in the Delhi High Court which mentioned: “Keeping in view of the seriousness of the crime in which two innocent Muslim youths were shot dead by the sleuths of Delhi Police it is necessary to conduct he judicial enquiry into the whole incident. “If the orders for a judicial enquiry are not passed now then truth will not be out any time in the future.”
