Bhubaneswar : A toilet in an Orissa train was damaged in a low intensity explosion, police said Tuesday.
The explosion on the Hatia-Bhubaneswar Garib Rath Express took place Monday night near Rourkela but came to light only Tuesday morning when the train reached this capital city, about 500 km away.
The mirror and basin in the toilet were damaged.
“Police and a forensic team are examining the nature of the device and material used in the blast,” Inspector General of Police (Railway) Pradeep Kapur told IANS.
Maoist guerrillas Monday began a 48-hour shutdown in five states. But police were unsure whether Maoists were involved in the train explosion.
