Kochi: The Jamat-e Islami Kerala has invited applications from deserving students for education scholarships. Applications are invited to various schemes like the general scholarship, the loan scholarship and the endowment scheme for researchers. Applications should be sent in the prescribed application forms which are available at the district centres of the organization. The forms can also be downloaded from the website

Scholarships are awarded to smart but poor students without any religious or caste preferences. All diploma, graduate and post-graduate courses come under this scholarship. The scholarship aims to help those students who find it hard to continue studies due to financial backwardness. The scholarship is also given to students of middle class families as well as working students. It also aims to give special encouragement to research.
The general scholarship is awarded to orphaned and destitute students and those whose family’s monthly income is below Rs 6000. This scholarship need not be paid back. This is given to those students who do not get any other scholarship.
The loan scholarship is given to the students whose family’s monthly income is below Rs 15,000. Financial help for daily educational expenses will be met. The scholarship amount should be repaid in small installments at the completion of studies.
The endowment scheme aims to encourage research studies. It will also consider those who had to stop studies due to family requirements. The scholarship amount should be repaid in installments on the completion of studies.
Recommendation of the Jamat-e Islami area, certification of the head of the institution where the student is studying, the word ensuring re-payment of scholarship amount and affidavit that the studies will be completed should be attached along with the filled up application form.
