New Delhi : The Congress Tuesday hailed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s visit to the US, saying New Delhi and Washington are united in promoting “peace and stability in Afghanistan”.
“India’s point of view was put forward in a strong and forthright manner and it was properly imbibed and absorbed,” said Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvui.
He said India and the US agreed that terrorism was a common threat to global peace and non-negotiable in any form and for any reason.
“There also been specific endorsement of India’s role in the reconstruction in Afghanistan. India and the US have (a) common (desire to promote) peace and stability in Afghanistan,” he said.
