New Delhi : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Tuesday called on President Pratibha Patil and discussed his just concluded US visit.
According to a statement issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan, the meeting lasted for about 40 minutes.
“The prime minister briefed the president about his recent visit to the US and his discussions with heads of government at CHOGM at Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago,” the statement said.
“The two leaders also discussed about matters relating to internal security, the ongoing parliament session and various other issues of national and international importance,” it said.
In the US last week, Manmohan Singh met US President Barack Obama. He then headed for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) summit. The prime minister returned to India Monday.
The US president rang up Manmohan Singh Tuesday to discuss the volatile situation in Afghanistan.
