Fire in Delhi building, 13 rescued

New Delhi : Thirteen people were rescued from the fourth floor of a building in the Janpath area here after the building caught fire Thursday morning, a fire department official said.

“We received a call at around 11.30 a.m. about the fire in Thapar House in Janpath area of New Delhi. Ten fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the fire was brought under control after nearly 100 minutes,” the fire department official said.

“As many as 13 persons were rescued from the fourth floor. But no one was injured in the fire,” the official added.

The reason behind the fire has not been ascertained yet and further investigations are on.
