The drill was conducted at the behest of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security.

Around 1 p.m., a call was received saying that a bomb has been planted on Jet Airways’ Delhi-Dhaka flight.

A total of 106 passengers were travelling on the flight.

“All the passengers were asked to disembark the flight and it was thoroughly checked,” a senior security official at the airport told IANS.

“It was a mock drill,” an official of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), said after the all-clear had been sounded.

The preparedness and response of all stakeholders like the CISF, the Delhi Fire Service, the bomb disposal squad, the Delhi Police, the National Security Guard (NSG) and the Airports Authority of India was closely monitored during the two-hour drill.
