Hyderabad : Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) chief K. Chandrasekhara Rao’s condition is worsening as he is not taking medicines and intravenous fluids, doctors said Wednesday.
As Rao continued his fast-unto-death on the 11th day demanding a separate state of Telangana, doctors monitoring his health at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) here said his condition would deteriorate if he continued the fast.
The Mahabubnagar MP is not cooperating with the doctors and even his blood samples could not be sent to the laboratory Wednesday morning.
Doctors said the protein and fat levels in his blood were coming down as was his weight.
“He is showing signs of protein malnutrition in the form of decreased protein in the blood and he is becoming weaker,” a health bulletin issued by NIMS said.
Doctors said there was an urgent need for insertion of central intravenous line for administration of fluids and medications but KCR, as Rao is popularly known, refused the insertion.
The TRS chief also refused “required intravenous antibiotic, oral and intravenous fluids”.
“He should immediately resume oral feed failing which his general condition would deteriorate further,” the bulletin stated.
