New Delhi: A 26-year-old engineer pursuing his Master’s in Business Administration was arrested but later released Sunday after his car collided with an auto-rickshaw in south Delhi injuring three people, police said.

The accident occurred when Apoorv was driving his Audi car back home early morning from a friend’s place in Vasant Kunj and an auto-rickshaw, coming from the wrong direction, collided with it near the Savitri Cinema traffic signal in Chirag Delhi.

Two women in the auto-rickshaw – Bimla, 55, and Meera, 48 – suffered injuries on their legs, while the driver Kishor also suffered minor injuries. They were admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), where Kishor was discharged after first aid. The women were also discharged later Sunday evening.

According to police, the women were returning to their Tri Nagar home in north Delhi after attending a religious function.

The police arrested both Kishor and Apoorv but they were later released on bail. Apporv’s father is a contractor with one of the civic agencies in the capital.
