Naseer and Shafas were caught in Bangladesh and handed over to India. The two were since then being questioned by the police teams of Karnataka and Kerala along with the central investigative agencies. Naseer is the prime accused in the Bangalore blasts and hails from Kannur in Kerala. He is also accused in several cases in Kerala including the Kalamassery bus-burning case, Kozhikode twin blasts case, attempt to murder former Chief Minister EK Nayanar, etc. He is also the third accused in the controversial Kerala-Kashmir terror case in which young men from the state were taken to Kashmir for terrorist activities. Shafas is supposed to have helped Naseer in his terrorist acts.

The two were brought to Kochi on Saturday early morning from Bangalore. The police took both to several places around Kochi to collect evidences. Many persons supposed to have been associated with the two in various ways like helping them acquire explosives and transporting them to Bnagalore, etc also have been arrested from Kochi.

In another development, PDP chairman Abdunnasir Madani demanded that the powers behind Naseer should be brought to the front. He refuted the charges that he and his wife Soofiya had links with the suspected terrorist. He added that he had good faith in the justice of God and that he would abide by the laws to prove his and his wife’s innocence.
