Kochi: The move to torture Soofiya Madani in the Kalamassery bus-burning incident, linking her to it by a phone call, is condemnable, opined the meeting of the leaders of Muslim organisations. The meeting was held in Kollam, the native district of Madani, on Sunday.
The Sangh Parivar members including Uma Bharathi who demolished the Babri Masjid in pure day light and those like Thogadia and young priest Pragya Singh Thakur who massacred people through the Malegaon blast are moving around freely. In such a situation, moves are on to arrest and imprison Soofiya Madani even after investigating officers have clearly stated that she does not have any role in the bus-burning incident. This is clear partiality. This is a part of the hidden conspiracy to propagate pardah and head-scarf as symbols of terrorism just like beard and turban. The Muslim community cannot shut its eyes on the move to keep and insult a Muslim woman like this, the meeting warned.
The meeting was presided over by VM Musa Moulvi, president of the Dakshin Kerala Jamiyathul Ulema. Thodiyoor Muhammed Kunhi Moulvi and Thevalakkara Aliyar Kunjhu Moulvi (secretaries of the Dakshin Kerala Jamiyathul Ulema), Adv KP Muhammed, MA Samad and Thevalakkara MA Azeez (general secretary, vice-president and secretary of the Jamat Federation) and Pangod A Qamarudhin Moulvi (state general secretary of the Lajnathul Muallimeen) spoke in the meeting.
