Copenhagen : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Friday held a quick meeting with leaders of other major economies in an effort to break the logjam over a political declaration to come out of the Copenhagen climate summit.
Besides Manmohan Singh, US President Barack Obama, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva, South African President Jacob Zuma were reportedly among leaders of other major economies who attended the meeting.
As the prime minister moved out of the main plenary hall at the conference venue for yet another quick meeting with BASIC countries (Brazil, South Africa, India, China), rumours swirled that he had walked out of the meeting.
The Indian government delegation was quick to deny any such development, but the rumours continued till CCTV cameras showed Manmohan Singh walking back into the main hall.
