Cong slams BJP for holding Sushma Swaraj’s welcome function inside airport

By Pervez Bari, TwoCircles.net,

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee, (MPCC), has taken strong exception of the Bharatiya Janata Party, (BJP), ruled State Government of blatantly violating the security of Bhopal’s Raja Bhoj airport by holding a function to welcome BJP leader Mrs. Sushma Swaraj, who is Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, at the state hanger area here on Monday.

MPCC spokesman J. P. Dhanopia in a statement said that it is unfortunate that Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and BJP State president Narendra Singh Tomar disregarded the security of airport by organizing a welcome meeting for Mrs. Sushma Swaraj at the state hanger. This is deplorable, he said.

Dhanopia said that the BJP party workers are well known for indiscipline. But it is surprising that the Chief Minister misusing his authority organized a function at the airport while putting its security at peril.

He said that no permission was sought from the competent authorities for organizing such a function at the airport premises. This would lead to indiscipline in future, he added.

Dhanopia recalled that two years back taking law into their hands, Bajrang Dal activists had entered the Indore airport and forcefully stopped a plane’s takeoff. The same type of thing is done by BJP top leaders today, he said.

He has complained to the Union Minister of Civil Aviation and asked the concerned BJP leaders to offer apology publicly so that such acts of indiscipline are not repeated in future. ([email protected])
