Winehouse wants to record her new album there, but her record company will have to spend tens of thousands of pounds. Winehouse has spent her holidays since before Christmas on the island of St Lucia.

“Amy is having the time of her life in St Lucia and doesn’t want it to end. She is looking and feeling so much better and is worried about the bad influences waiting for her back in London. She has written a big chunk of her new album and has told bosses she wants to go to Jamaica to record it,” said a source.

Her record company also knows that drugs are easily available in Jamaica.

“They are keen to accommodate her as long as she keeps getting better and carries on working,” the source added.
