New Delhi: All India Meo Development Front, All India Muslim Meo Vikas Parishad (AIMMVP), Mewat Welfare India Education Society (MWIES) and a group of social workers in Mewat have supported the demand raised by the Joint Committee of Muslim Organizations for Empowerment of Muslims (JCMOE) to extend reservation benefits to Muslims on the basis of their social, economic and educational backwardness.
National secretary of All India Meo Development Front, Shairah Begum said, “Muslim community has been lagging behind in the race of progress in all Indian states for a long time. They need immediate reservation.” Supporting the demand, AIMMVP convener Akhtar Rawalki said, “It looks as if various governments have kept Muslims behind. As pre Sachar Committee and Justice Ranganath Mishra Commission reports, Muslims are far behind the pace of country’s progress even 60 years after the independence of the country.”
Pleading for early grant of reservation to Muslims, MWIES secretary M. Javed said, “India is a secular country, therefore, everyone should be able to enjoy his rights equally. It is inappropriate to push back any particular community.” He Welcomed Haryana government’s decision to open a university in a minority concentration district.
