Islamabad : At least six people were killed and eight injured in a suspected US drone attack in northwestern Pakistan Saturday, Dawn TV reported.
The suspected drone fired two missiles at a house in Jangry area of Lada tehsil of South Waziristan tribal area bordering Afghanistan, said the report.
The targeted house was located in an area controlled by militant leader Baitullah Mehsud, according to the report.
On Thursday, US Senator Dianne Feinstein revealed that the drones which carried out missile attacks in Pakistan’s tribal regions were actually flown from an air space in Pakistan, an allegation denied by Pakistani Defence Minister Ahmad Mukhtar.
Pakistan has been calling for an end to drone attacks saying such cross-border missile attacks “counter-productive” in the fight against terrorism.
