Civilian injured in Srinagar grenade attack

Srinagar : A passer-by was injured when separatist guerrillas hurled a grenade at a paramilitary forces bunker in Srinagar Wednesday evening.

The police said separatist guerrillas hurled a grenade at a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) bunker in Magarmal area of the city, half a kilometre from city centre Lal Chowk, Wednesday evening, injuring a civilian.

“The grenade exploded outside the CRPF bunker resulting in splinter injuries to a civilian identified as Javaid Ahmad, who has been shifted to the hospital for treatment,” a police official said.

The CRPF troopers manning the bunker did not suffer any casualty in the attack, the police added.
