Dubai : India’s Sania Mirza and Italian Mara Santangelo reached the second round of Dubai tennis championship after receiving a walkover from Polish Urszula Radwanska and Swiss Stefanie Voegele.
Urszula retired from her singles match against French Camille Pin due to an injury.
Sania and Santangelo, who reached the Pattaya Open semi-final, will now face top seeds Cara Black of Zimbabwe and American Liezel Huber.
Sania’s run in the singles was halted by Estonian 16th seed Kaia Kanepi in the second round Tuesday.
