Mumbai : Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan here Thursday expanded his cabinet by inducting three new members including senior Congress leader Narayan Rane, whose suspension from the party was revoked three days ago.
The new ministers include senior Congress leaders Rane, Naseem Khan and Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil.
Khan’s name had figured in the first cabinet list when Chavan was sworn-in as chief minister Dec 8 last year. However, since Khan was away on the Haj pilgrimage, he could not be inducted at that time.
Rane had been under suspension for almost two months after he lost the race to become Maharashtra chief minister. His suspension was revoked only three days ago.
Governor S.C. Jamir administered the oath of office to the newcomer trio at a well-attended function at the Raj Bhavan Thursday evening.
