“First, Pakistan said he (Azhar) was under house arrest. Pakistan then said he could not be found in the country. If someone cannot be found, then how can he be under house arrest?” Mukherjee wondered while speaking to reporters here Friday evening.

“These denials are not new. India is accustomed to denials by Pakistan. These denials come quite often form Pakistan,” he added.

Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rehman Malik Wednesday said that Masood Azhar and Dawood Ibrahim were not in Pakistan and no request has been received from India for their arrest.
