New Delhi : Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corp (IRCTC) will open 52 food plazas at stations across the country, an official statement said Monday.
The Railway Board has also given approval to IRCTC’s proposal for setting of two ‘Rail Neer’ water plants at Pallur in Chennai and Ambernath in Mumbai, it added.
IRCTC has already started 53 food plazas under public-private partnership model and 19 more are under various stages of construction.
IRCTC has also awarded licenses for managing 40 mini base kitchens. The company will manage another 20 mini base kitchens. One cell kitchen is already operational at Nizamuddin railway station and 18 cell kitchens are projected to be operational by 2008-09 end.
