New Delhi : Delhiites can finally enjoy the winter sun with the weather department Wednesday predicting misty mornings followed by clear skies in the days to come.
“There will be mainly clear skies and a little mist in the morning in the coming days,” said an official at the Safdarjung Metrological office here.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 5.9 degree Celsius Wednesday morning. A shallow mist cover and damp breeze was also observed.
The maximum temperature would hover around 20 degree Celsius while the minimum could fall further to 5 degree Celsius in the coming days, the official added.
General visibility was clear all through Wednesday morning, hovering above 1,000 metres.
“It is bright and sunny, everything is fine here,” said an IGI airport official.
While the airline operations were back on track, railway services continued to be affected by the fog conditions in other parts of north India.
An official of the Northern Railways said: “Many of the trains are running behind schedule because of fog conditions. Several trains have also been cancelled.”
Even the railways’ information services over the phone played out a recorded voice admitting it could not cope with the “abnormal weather conditions”.
