Shimla : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has launched a service in Himachal Pradesh which will allow people to register their complaints of corruption through just an SMS, an official said Sunday.
“Our (the CBI) aim is to encourage the common man to come forward in providing details about the corrupt employees in government offices and public sector undertakings of the central government,” CBI Superintendent of Police R. Upasak told IANS.
He said this campaign had received an overwhelming response in other states.
“Now, filing complaints against corruption will be hassle free. Anybody can provide information by sending an SMS or making a call on a mobile number 09418153535,” he said.
Upasak said in the hill state, the complaint rate against corruption was quite low as compared to other states.
“The people in the hill state generally hesitate to report complaints about bribes demanded by government officials,” he said.
