By IRNA,
Tehran : Head of Iranian team dispatched to Gaza said on Wednesday that a ship containing Iran’s humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza has been stopped by the Zionist forces 20 miles from the city of Gaza.
Ahmad Navab added that the Iranian ship ‘Shahed’ contains foodstuffs and medicines for Gaza which is under the siege of the Zionist regime.
He added that the ship was to arrive at the regional water when it was repeatedly warned by the Zionist Navy.
If the ship cannot enter Gaza, Iran’s humanitarian aid will be transferred via Egypt and the Rafah crossing point, he added.
Navab reiterated that there is no ship other than the Iranian ship containing humanitarian supplies for the people of Gaza in the regional waters.
He expressed hope that the Egyptian government would open the Rafah crossing point temporarily to let the Iranian humanitarian supplies enter the city of Gaza.
The shipload consisting of foodstuffs, and medicines, left the Iranian southern port city of Bandar Abbas 14 days ago for the city of Gaza.
Several Iranian and foreign journalists are on board of the ship to give coverage to the news of transfer of humanitarian aid to the oppressed people in the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, Iran’s cargo plane carrying humanitarian supplies for the people of Gaza landed in Cairo some ten days ago.
The cargo is still in the Egyptian territory close to the city of Gaza and has not been permitted to reach the Gazan.
Israel’s war against the oppressed Palestinians in Gaza Strip entered its 19th day on Wednesday with the Palestinian death toll nearing 1,000.
