New Delhi: Other Books, a publisher of books based in Calicut is going to celebrate its 5th anniversary on January 29. The celebration will be held at Town Hall in Calicut city of Kerala. Three books will be launched on this occasion.
Among the many prominent personalities who are expected to participate in the function some may be named as the famous orator Susan Nathan, professor Kancha Ilaiah of Omania University, IAS Swapan K Biswas, Prof. Ninan Koshy, advocate Saji Cheraman, advocate Sujanapal, former MLA T. Ahamed Kabeer and Dr. Abdullah Manima.
During the function three books- ‘Aathmavanchanakalude Puravritham’ (the Malayalam version of Other Side of Israel by Susan Nathan), the English and Malayalam versions of ‘Nine Decades of Marxism in the land of Brahminism’ by S. K. Biswas and ‘Hagar the Matrix, the Matriarch and the paradigm’ by Ahmdi Muhammad- will be launched.
Based in Calicut, Kerala Other Books is an independent book distribution and publishing initiative which was established in 2003 by academicians and social activists. The publications of the Other Book deal with various topics including religion, politics, and history etc with a great focus on quality.
