Mumbai : For the first time since he took over the reins of the Maharashtra government six weeks ago, Chief Minister Ashok Chavan will be subjected to a public grilling session on people’s security concerns here Thursday.
Organised by the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), the event at Kamla Raheja College in Juhu will be attended by representatives of major associations, education institutions and citizens’ groups who will quiz Chavan on what has been done post the Nov 26 terror attacks, party general secretary Sanjay Nirupam told IANS.
“This is Chavan’s first direct public interaction on the issue of security concerns post Mumbai terror attacks and he has chosen this platform to assuage people’s concerns,” said Nirupam.
Though Bollywood personalities are being kept at bay, Mahesh Bhatt and Ashok Pandit shall be there to raise a voice on behalf of the film fraternity.
The exercise is being conducted in the Mumbai North-West Lok Sabha constituency represented by Priya Dutt. The area, stretching from Bandra to Jogeshwari, encompasses Mumbai’s ‘Glamour Crescent’. Top businessmen and film personalities live there.
