Riyaz Bhatkal, Aamir Rizwan, Iqbal Bhatkal and Taufiq are suspected to be hiding in Pakistan after escaping from India following the blasts that left at least 50 people killed in Ahmedabad.

The state police have sought the assistance of the central probe agency to get Interpol’s help in tracking the four to stand trial in the blast case, Inspector General (Crime Branch) Ashish Bhatia told reporters Monday.

An Interpol red notice is issued at the request of a country’s law enforcement authority when a criminal evades arrest and escapes from the country. Interpol’s role is to assist the national police forces in identifying or locating those people with a view to their arrest and extradition. In India, the CBI is the nodal agency for Interpol.

The police have already conveyed to the CBI that it would provide all documents pertaining to the identity of the four accused to help Interpol nab them in Pakistan where they are suspected to be hiding, Bhatia said.
