Noida : A two-day-old girl was found abandoned in this Uttar Pradesh town on the outskirts of the national capital Monday, police said.
The baby girl was lying beside the road between Sai Temple and Community Centre in Sector-61 when a passerby noticed her and informed the police.
“The infant was reportedly wrapped in a shawl. We produced the baby before the city magistrate. The future custody of the baby would be decided by him,” Dharmendra Chauhan Station Officer-Sector-58 said.
The baby has been sent for medical examination in the district hospital. The magistrate sent the baby under NGO Sahyog’s care.
“We have kept the girl in the Satya Medical Centre in an incubator. The baby seems to be physically alright but we are awaiting the medical report on her,” Sonia Kohli of the NGO said.
