Jammu : The Border Security Force (BSF) fired twice after noticing “some suspicious movement” along Jammu and Kashmir’s border with Pakistan early Sunday, said an official.
BSF Inspector General (Jammu Frontier) A.K. Saroolia told reporters that the BSF personnel in Kanachak area saw two to three people at 2.30 a.m. and opened fire at them.
The infiltrators were again noticed at around 5 a.m. and the guards fired again. “We saw some footprints in the area this morning… It could be an infiltration attempt.”
Security forces along the border are on high alert in the run up to the Republic Day Monday.
