Lucknow : The Allahabad High Court Tuesday turned down a plea to stay the arrest of Vibha Tiwari, a co-accused with her arrested lawmaker husband Shekhar in lynching of an Uttar Pradesh engineer last November.
Vibha Tiwari has been absconding ever since the police went on her trail for allegedly destroying evidences at the guest house in Auraiya where Manoj Kumar Gupta was tortured to death by the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) legislator and his henchmen.
The court directed the state police to expedite the investigations in the case and asked a lower court to complete the trial within six months.
