Mumbai : Indian equities markets made a positive opening Tuesday, with the key index starting trade higher than its last closing figure.
The sensitive index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (Sensex) started at 8,803.07, points, higher than its 8,674.35-point close Friday. After about 10 minutes of trading, it was at 8,827.71 points, 1.77 percent or 153.36 points higher than its previous close.
At the same time, the S&P CNX Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange was at 2,731.65 points, 1.98 percent higher than its previous close of 2,678.55.
Other market indices like the BSE midcap index was up 0.94 percent, while the BSE smallcap was 0.54 percent higher than its previous close.
