New Delhi : Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss has promised “all support” to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to revamp health services in the troubled state.
The minister gave this assurance to Abdullah here Tuesday night. The chief minister also raised the issue of central assistance to upcoming maternity hospitals in Jammu and Srinagar.
A health ministry statement Wednesday said that all efforts would be made to raise resources for funding the maternity centres.
Ramadoss said Jammu and Kashmir would get help to train doctors and paramedical staff for super specialties coming up in the state, added the statement.
“We recognise the special circumstances of Jammu and Kashmir and we will do our best to ensure the best possible healthcare for (its) people,” said Ramadoss.
