In a letter to the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and President of the Security Council Jean-Maurice Ripert, the Iranian envoy condemned the removal of terrorist outfit Mojahedin-e Khalq Organisation (MKO) from EU’s list of terrorist groups.

“The EU should bear in mind that such politically-motivated approaches in dealing with the menace of terrorism that threatens the lives and the security of all peoples of the globe is unacceptable and is absolutely rejected by the international public opinion, and will not in any way serve their purpose,” Khazaee said in his letter.

He said that the international community was aware of the terrorist nature of the group.

“Iran condemns this decision of the EU, and wishes to remind the European Union of the negative consequences of this unreasonable decision and stresses that it considers this action as an unwarranted and negative move that would adversely affect the international community’s fight against terrorism, and calls on the European Union to repeal this decision,” he added.
